Ashish is an Indian born fashion designer known for his unusual cuts, fabrics and bold prints. His first Collection came out in 2001 when he was picked out by Browns (one of the most prestigious stores in London) and since then has evolved and grown in strength as a designer.
Having said all that, i'm not the biggest fan/follower of mainstream fashion but Ashish's latest Collection for A/W 2011/12 is something that i'm very much into :-)....Punk!
The Collection is influenced and inspired by Britain and Scotland with heavy use of the Tartan print and the Union Jack. The bold colours throughout the Collection make the Tartan print really stand out and give it a more modern feel than the usual red, white and black.
Layering is also something that i love and this Collection certainly has plenty of that. With the oversized vests and the lose fitting skirts and shorts, i can definitely see myself wearing a few of these pieces...
To top off the Collection, i'm absolutely in love with the 'DIY effect' used on the creepers :-) They look amazing. I've been after a pair of Tuk Creepers in pink for a while now and after seeing these, i might have to get some asap :-) I'm also loving the spider web print on the tights :-) Such a simple but effective way to pull the entire outfit together...

So, what do you think? Do you like Ashish's use of bold colours or do you think it's a bit of a Tartan Overload? I just love the whole punk vibe to it and with the brightness, it's almost hippy too :-)
(i would like to thank Ashish for the images used in this blog)
